What We Do

We will guide you through the entire recovery process and provide complementary services, including intake and assessments, referral and service navigation, treatment planning, group therapy intervention, community detox, transport to programs, and monitoring of your progress.

We strive to provide the best possible outcomes for you or your loved one.

What to Expect

Upon receiving your referral, a trauma-informed and culturally aware mental health practitioner will invite you for a consultation to discuss your primary concerns, complete our Recovery Checklist, and by session five, you will have developed personalised recovery goals, been linked to appropriate critical support, and have your progress monitored.

Drug & Alcohol Program

Path2home is an eight-week intensive outpatient day program that service users attend for 4 hours per day, 3 days per week. Additionally, the program offers a range of therapeutic cultural and social events to assist consumers to re integrate with their community in healthy ways.

The program offers evidence-based harm reduction, relapse prevention, psychoeducation,  Motivational Interviewing- and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-based approaches to substance use disorder treatment that are rolled out over an eight-week period. Each week is devoted to a different aspect of recovery, including one relating to issues of financial hardship and responsible use of funds.

Counselling

We provide safe, comprehensive and dedicated counselling on various life challenges.

Care & Recovery

We offer a structured aftercare program essential for long-term recovery and for patients to achieve their agreed treatment goals.

Home Detox Support

Home detox is the process of safely withdrawing a dependent drinker from alcohol without admission to an inpatient unit.

Increasing Access to Vital Services

NRC leads assertive outreach to deliver harm reduction education directly to the streets, parks, and homes where it is needed most, through proactive partnerships with local mental health and wellbeing organisations. We ensure that even the most vulnerable Australians receive essential treatment and support.

Youth Justice and Forensic-Specific Aftercare Programs

Our program offers support for young people aged 15-25 involved with criminal justice. Young participants are offered the opportunity to connect with healthy role models from their community to develop life skills and build engagement with school, healthy activities, and community participation.

Operation Path2Home

Helping young people stay on track, we collaborate with Victoria Police to support youth at risk of entering the justice system. P2H aids youth facing school disengagement, family instability, and early police contact by providing trauma-informed support, including outreach, life skills, counselling, family workshops, and vocational guidance.

Through school re-engagement, wraparound community reintegration, aftercare support, family support, and mentoring, we have helped 70% of youth build a future beyond the legal system.

Peer Support Groups

We offer tailored semi-structured psychosocial support groups for various demographics, including youth, women, men, families, friends, and carers, to connect and gain skills and strategies for looking after themselves while supporting their loved ones through recovery journeys.

Eligible participants can reduce traffic-related fines by up to $1,300 per month through the Work Development Scheme (WDP), alleviating financial burdens and promoting compliance. Groups can be accessed in person and virtually.

Family Support

When dealing with the addiction of someone close to you, you become used to living on a roller coaster. You will try everything to stop your addicted loved one from using but alone you are left exhausted and disappointed.

We provide free support for families, friends, and carers. We provide information, advice, advocacy, and education to empower families impacted by loved one’s drug use and mental illness.

Consulting Services

Our workshops are designed to help organisations and teams meet the needs of individuals and families from South Sudanese and other African Australian communities.
